Our Story

Some of the best things in this world have already been made. They're just waiting to be found again.

Backwater Vintage Co. started the way most good things do — slowly, on weekends, digging through estate sales and flea markets across the back roads of Alabama. We're based in Gadsden, and this place has a way of turning up treasure if you know where to look. Old Levi's folded in somebody's closet since 1987. A trucker hat from a roadside attraction that doesn't exist anymore. A faded tee from a college nobody remembers cheering for.

We look for pieces that have already lived a life — and still have plenty left in them.

Every item we carry is one of a kind. When it's gone, it's gone. That's kind of the point. We're not interested in fast fashion or manufactured nostalgia. We're interested in the real thing: the worn-in, the well-traveled, the stuff that was built to last and proved it.
